Cicadas of Brood X in Princeton (6-2004)

Billions comming out of the ground at night and looking for a tree to climb.

Finding a nice spot and squeezing out of the shell. Check out the movie!

Getting the new wings dry and hard (next to the old exoskeleton).

Ready to fly and buzz in search of a mate. Check out the sound!

In the morning, you can see the holes they got out of.

The number of shells left behind clinging on leaves hints on their number.

The ground completely covered at times.

Now they are gone. But you can tell where they laid their eggs by the damage to the trees.
